Review | Carol's Beauty Sun Tanning Enhancing Lotion ♥

Hi guys! Now that Winter has officially left, it means that I'm left with super pasty and pale skin because I've been out of the sun for a long time. Carol's Beauty literally contacted me just in time to save me from my paleness and sent me these two products to try out. These are natural sun tanning enhancers that's safe and perfect for getting quick bronzy skin. They sent me two of them and originally I was really confused at what the difference was. However, after reading more about it, I realised they are essentially the same product but with a different consistency - one is a lotion and the other is an oil.

Brand: Carol's Beauty
Name: Mini Sun Tanning Enhancing Lotion & Oil
Price: $11.99 AUD (30mL) / $34.99 (100mL)
Weight: 30 mL
Shade: -
Description: Carol’s sun tanning enhancer lotion also comes in a fun-sized pack perfect to fit into your handbag or travel bag making it so easy to sneak around anywhere! It is 100% Australian-made and the country’s ONLY sun tan enhancer to be certified-organic by the ACO. Our innovative carrot and henna complex helps to maximize the results of time spent in the sun, moisturizes and nourishes your skin, whilst targeting wrinkles, eczema, psoriasis and stretch marks. Further making you smell fresh and beautiful with Ylang Ylang oil.
Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus Seed oil (Sunflower Oil), Cera Alba(Bees Wax), PrunusAmygdalusDulcis Oil (Almond Oil), DauscusCarota Oil (Carrot Oil), Benzyl Alchohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Lawsonia Leaf Extract, (Henna Extract), CanangaOdorata (ylangYlang Oil), Carmine

So today I'm mainly focusing on the enhancing lotion because I personally don't like using oil on my skin much because it's much harder to work with and gets messy easily. There are two sizes that you can choose from on their website - the mini and the normal size. The mini is a great size for travelling and taking with you on the go for touch ups. It comes in a squeezy tube which makes it easy to control how much product you want to use.

About the Brand
Carol's beauty is known for having products that are made from organic and natural ingredients. They are the first Australian sun tanning enhancing lotion that is certified to be organic by the ACO so it's safe to use. All the ingredients for this product have been listed above but there are 4 main natural ingredients in this lotion that make this product work.

  • Carrot oil
Contains antioxidants & Vitamin A,E,D that stimulate melanin under the skin to help achieve a faster tan.  Also helps rejuvenate and nourishes the skin targeting wrinkles and skin conditions such as like eczema, psoriasis.and stretch marks.

  • Henna
Henna extract helps give skin a rich bronzed golden colour and locks it in for a supremely long lasting tan.

  • Almond oil
High in vitamin e and fatty acids, the almond oil has a way of trapping moisture in the skin keeping the skin mositurised at all times.

  • Bees wax
Organic bees wax helps to reduce inflammation, and locks in moisture helps to protect skin from environmental damages. It contains powerful anti-bacterial, anti- inflammatory properties and is abundant in antioxidants that help skin conditions eczema, psoriasis.and stretch marks.
How to use
Basically this lotion is really easy to use. Before you go out into the sun, apply a generous amount of the lotion evenly all over the skin. Then, just go out into the sun and sit for about 10 minutes (minimum) to achieve a natural tan. You can sit out for longer depending on how tan you want to get.
Application and Results
The lotion comes in a squeezeable tube and although it comes out like a pinkish orangey cream, don't be deceived because after you actually apply it and rub it in, it becomes transparent. The product itself smells really organic and natural, kind of like sunscreen mixed with carrots - (i know) not the best scent but it's bearable. After application, your skin will look a bit shiny like you've applied sunscreen on it and feels a bit oily/slippery.
In terms of results, I noticed that my skin did get darker and the colour was more even after using this product. It wasn't a really obvious difference but it did help to achieve a quicker tan that usual. It also made my skin feel really moisturised throughout the day after the oiliness wore off.

The lotion and oil both come in similar style packaging - both are squeezable tubes but the oil is a bit more messy. The packaging is quite standard, nothing special. But I do like how it comes with a travel size and a standard size because it comes in handy when travelling.

I've never used tanning enhancers before so I'm not quite sure what the price range is usually. However, $12 for a 30mL bottle is an affordable price, although if you use this a lot I would recommend you getting the bigger bottle just because it works out to be cheaper in the long run. The oil actually works out to be the cheapest because it's $34.99 for 150mL of product however, I do prefer the lotion a lot more because it's easier application wise.

This did a pretty decent job at giving me a natural tan and helping me darken my pasty skin quickly. The natural ingredients also made my legs feel really moisturised during the day.

- Affordable
- Comes in a handy travel size
- Squeezable tube makes it easy to control how much product you want to get out
- Helps enhance tan quickly
- Easy to apply
- Comes in two types depending on what you like to use: lotion or oil
- Made of organic ingredients, safe to use
- Has moisturising properties

- The scent
- Leaves skin looking and feeling oily

All in all, even though I'm not a fan of being super tan, I do enjoy and will continue to use this product during summer to help even out my skintone and for quick bronzing up. It will be a great lotion to bring with you to the beach if you're going to sit around in the sun and tan. Make sure you still wear sunscreen when using this though!!
